Basics
Just the basic “need to knows” about World of Warcraft

So a friend tricked you into trying World of Warcraft huh? You just sat through a hour worth of uploads and patches and now you are looking at a crap ton of choices. What do you do? Alliance or Horde? Rouge or Warlock?
Each has it’s benefits. First think about how you like to play game. Do you normally run and gun? Do you take cover and plan every move? Do you like to snipe from a distance? Do you like to melee or shoot? Think about your style and what make you the most successful in other games.
World of Warcraft (or WOW) is broken down into three simple roles.
- Tanks: These beasts take damage and hold keep the target (or Mob) occupied while less armord players do damage
- DPS (Damage Per Second): These players concentrate on inflict maximum damage
- Healers: These players keep everyone else alive and kicking, not to mention can inflict damage themselves
These guides will lead you down the path to the right choices and the best start in the game. At least we hope, worst case we wasted 2 mins of your day.
